Out of the playoffs again?!?
The Leaves are the Rodney Dangerfield of the imba. No respect!!!
If the 9 weren't being humble (or coy) then our squad would slide to 10! Needless to say I will be all in favor of retaining the 9 team playoff format!!!
Truth be told, you're more than likely right Brody. My team peaked two years ago with 67 wins and a division championship while making it to the second round of the playoffs. This past season we fell short of all those bench marks. Next season I think we are likely a little weaker. Once again our starting pitching depth will have to carry us through the long regular season while our limited hitters (can you say Mookie?!? I knew you could) will have to step up in the playoffs. That formula didn't work too well this past season. We can only hope that it carries us further in the next.
Keep the division previews coming dude!

DEF RATING MODIFIED PRE DRAFT. 1) Sean Ruiz and better cards then projected vaults Sean to the top Sean wins div=3 seed 2) AC Tons of picks to leap frog Sean after the draft misses playoffs way off 3)Al Can Al hold off Jim S and KD with no picks? Wins div 2 seed 4)MLB Cards not quite as good as projected drops the 9. 4 seed 5)Jim S Can he make it 11 yrs in a row in the playoffs? 5 seed 6)PM New division and a co-manager. A interesting yr for the Pandagers. misses playoffs 7)ED 3 2nd rders to fill some holes. Did I just say Goats filling holes. 6 seed 8)PV Turner and Baker big adds in a tight tight race. 1 seed 9)Vacant #1 pick will help but no manager will drop them way down. 10)HB Lack of a draft and injury to Fernandez will be tough to overcome. 11)KD Eight 1st rd picks to catch Al and Jim S with in round robin playin 12)Josh 10 picks in the first 3 rds to pass Sean and me with in round robin playin 14)KC 4's up the middle is alot to overcome but KC has silenced the critics before. secured 7 or 8th seed with d robin win 15)Wil Great pen. 1's up the middle but the SP may be too much for him as he moves back to the Manhattan Div. 16)Ray Taking the year off and already beginning to dismantle 17)Jason Ditto in rd robin playin 18)Jim L Ditto

Defense? Who needs stinking defense?
Offense? Who needs stinking offense?
Pitching? Who needs stinking pitching?
Seriously who needs pitching? I've got some surplus innings I need to turn into a glove man or two!
I've gone from a 1/2 middle infield tandem to a pair of 4's! With the same players! In consecutive years!! How did both of my mi's forget how to field in a single season?!?

I like the Mudville Nine logo, spiffy! You should keep it. With the additions of two nice power bats last night Im pushing my team up a notch in the ranking! Move aside PM.

Great...thanks a lot Brody. Now teams (other than Sarrantonio) will be saving their best for me! I liked the rankings better with AC on top. Truth is, even with all the 1's I got on D, my most shocking defensive rating was Peralta getting a 3! First time since 2007 he hasn't gotten a 4 at SS. That will be huge for me as his bat is now actually playable in the field as well. Still long ways to go, though. Practically a whole offseason of trading and then the draft. Plenty of time for me to f*ck it up

1) AC With 2 1st rd picks the clear favorite 2)Al Added picks should battle for the number 1 seed 3)MLB Got the closer and upgraded 1b, Added Ichiro as a lefty killer 4) B Sox Lefty heavy hitting team took a park that favors rightys 5)JIm S its what he does 6) Pete M A. Gorden a big pick up 7)Goats only 1 second rd pick now but have moved to the best power park in the set and added Miller to the rotation 8)PV if only he had picks. Will drop after the draft 9)Tom Best team in years.Hurt by teams behind him having very deep drafts. 10)Jason has a top pitching staff, Weak Pen and off years from studs hurt. Will drop after the draft 11) Phil Rookie manager with number 1 pick over all. Needs SP and pen help. 12) KC 4's up the middle hurt needs pen and Outfield help. Draft is huge for this team. A big draft he moves up. 13) Wil Needs SP so the game is not out of hand for one of the best pens in the league. 14) Josh A ton of picks needs to build a rotation and a pen. Better base team then KD. 15) KD The best draft in the league has to make good use of it 16)HB Doesnt pick to rd 4. Stayed in HR pick with a vey weak rotation 17) Ray should be ranked much higher but taking year off after tough year. 18 Chris. Defending champion gutted to win it all.

With the exception of Duda, my teams power is in its Righty bats. Duda's a fairly powerful card on its own and should perform well in any park.

Final pre draft thoughts?
Who has helped themselves the most through trades?
How does the actual draft shake out now that teams are done trading until the draft?
An amended power ranking perhaps.
Tic tok you're on the clock.

I think my choice of home stadiums was my best pre draft move. I have successfully helped Bumgarner and Doolittle mask their HR problems to righties (a huge deal since they both have to pitch well for us to compete) while still giving some play to my 3 8 diamond LHB (Papi, Seager and Belt). I think Petco park probably helps my team by ~3 wins this season. I project around 57 wins for the Leaves at this point. Unless the draft goes very differently than I expect, I don't think it will help or hurt my team by more than 2-3 wins or losses. That gives me an expected range of 54-60 wins for the coming season barring a dramatic trade or two or a really wonky draft. We'll see if I'm right and, more importantly, if that translates into a playoff berth where my limited hitters and top arms should make my team reasonably dangerous in a short series.
